Hello and Welcome...

It is with sad regret that the family of Ron Riker announces the passing of Ron on April 26th, 2004 at his home in Beach Haven, New Jersey. Throughout the past 20 years Ron insisted that he'd remain on the island, and chose to live his life with ALS, remaining very active, and in control of his environment.

Though he had lost his voice earlier on, Ron continually made sure that others understood him, and the important message he had to say.

Ron being more determined than ever, fought for his independence until his last breath.

Ron is sorely missed by his family and seemingly endless network of friends,
of all things we shall miss is are his humor, insight and his love for life itself.

A memorial service will be held in his native Beach Haven
on Saturday, May 1st, 2004 at 10:00 AM

Memorial Services will be at:

Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church
2nd Street and Atlantic Boulevard, Beach Haven, NJ

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ron's Name to the Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association, located at 321 Norristown Road, Ambler PA 19002-2755

Ron fought a arduous battle with Lou Gehrigs Disease, often pointing out that a million people died before Lou Gehrig and that the time had come for his country to take care of their own. Ron countinuously worked to improve the rights of the disabled people, bringing his concerns to light before Congress in 2003, seeking reform in the Social Security System.

The only thing contagious about my living with ALS, is my determination....

Thanks,

Ron
